Le zoom du GX100 a des focales très intéressantes, lumineux aux plus courtes de celles-ci. Comme il ne présente pas de défaut optique, il a de quoi séduire.
Un viseur électronique peut se positionner dans la griffe porte-accessoire. Ce viseur est de bien meilleure qualité que la plupart des viseurs électroniques du moment. Cher, il pouvait s'acquérir en accessoire.
Le capteur présente un peu trop de bruit à partir de 400 ISO.
